http://www.homeserve.com - If your radiators are playing up, then finding what the problem is can be a tricky job, but if you've got a few hours free - then this guide will show you how it's done.
TOTE1183GAS - does the cold rad have a TRV on it (a controller valve with numbers on it)? If it does then the spindle that closes off the rad may be stuck. The TRV pushes this spindle in and out of the radiator to restrict or allow flow. You can remove the TRV and see if the little spindle pushes in and out freely. It is springloaded - a bit of WD40 and a mild tap might free it. The spindle looks light on of those old flints that went into Zippo lighters.
Tote mine is fine now. I learned a lot in the past month about the central heating. Mine prob was a blockage. I put Fernox in the loft tank for a week and then drained the system, refilled it and ran it for a day then drained and refilled. Finally I added inhibitor in the loft tank and to kept on bleeding the rads until they all came on. Sometimes if you turn all rads off and put the pump on full and the temp up high, the pressure forces the cold rad to heat.
Why will this vid not play?

Bottom rads cold could be faulty/sludge filled pump, sludge filled system, dodgy motorised valves, airlocks - I know cause I'm going mental trying to sort mines out ...LOL
