This music segment is from the Filmation prime-time special "Archie and His New Pals" shown in Sept, 1969 on CBS. This is the FULL version of the song. The special was shown again in 1970 as the "Archie Sugar, Sugar / Jingle Jangle Show". In that repeat version, only the last verse of this song was shown, as the show was shortened to make room to add the "Sugar, Sugar" and "Jingle Jangle" music segments at the end.
When "The Archies" series went into syndication in 1976, this prime-time special was made part of the package, but the version they used only had the shortened version of this song.
There was been a bootleg copy of the special on the TV-show trading circuit for many years. That copy shows the original version as it was shown on CBS, and with the laugh-track and the animated commercial intros made for Pals vitamins intact. However, the color is very faded.
I have it on very good authority that the copy and version used as a BONUS in the "Archie's Funhouse" DVD boxset was pulled from Lou Scheimer's own archives. It has great color and sound, but was not a final version as the laugh-track was not added.
This music segment is from the version that was included in the "Archie's Funhouse" DVD boxset, therefore, it does not have the laugh-track added either.
As for the music segment, The Archies are not shown playing at all. There is no mistaking Ron Dante's voice, but the song is unlike any other Archie's song ever shown in the series. This is the only instance where The Archies were singing an entire song as part of a story. This is very reminiscent of Hanna-Barbera cartoons like Josie & The Pussycats, or the second season of Scooby-Doo, where the group would sing a song during a chase scene.
This song was never released on an album or 45, and because it's lyrics were specific to the the special's storyline, was never repeated in any other Archie series.
Who has the syndicated "Archies'" theme: "The Archies' are here to entertain you//and their friend Hot dog is with'em too..." THAT VERSION?

@ClassicTV4U That was the opening theme to the syndicated "The Archies" show from 1976. This was the show that put all the Filmation Archie shows (up to that point) into one lump package and syndicated it all over the USA. Dallas McKennon (voice of Archie) provided the vocals. While I used to have the intro to that show on audio cassette, it has long since disappeared from my library. I have not run across anyone who still has it... so if anyone does, please let us know.

I thought Moose already had an image!

Ahhh... but that's not the image the gang wanted to project for him since he was running for class president (nominated by Reggie so that he, as Moose's opponent, wouldn't have any competition). In the end, Moose learned from Sabrina that he did not need an image... he just needed to be himself.
