@kabbinet I agree, but the for Americans raised to believe that their country was undefeatable it must have been soul-crushing: even more so considering how many were killed by napalm, Agent Orange and other defoliants, and friendly fire. They wouldn't have known how to react, whereas the Vietnamese had been invaded multiple times before by the French, the English and the Japanese at one point (I think).

@Joiner113 Unfortunatly it was themselves that made the war. however it was probably a little more worse for Vietnam that got invaded by a then to date the top strongest army in the world being napalmed, raped and polluted with agent orange that gives cancer to present people. And still the US havn't paid the war reparations.

@JalkaPuoli Dude, the Americans suffered a crippling defeat after wasting thousands of men. I think it was probably worse for the Americans; going into a war they couldn't win using weapons that hurt their own men, and then coming back to a country that hated them after watching their best friends die around them.

Eeh-- Terrorizng and invading South Vietnam - Sure. But you seem to have oddly forgotten the part that many vietnamese fled Vietnam because the south vietnamese goverment was terrorizing its own populace out of fear they might be communists, and the US napalming the shit out of north vietnamese villages.

But you only need one side to start a war... Since more then a thousand people died each year in 'Nam (the UN definition for 'Armed Conflict') it can defintely be considered a war. The US congress usually does not have a lot of say on those things. Which occasionally is a real bith, and ocasionally very convenient for the US.
