Pete Douglas' non-profit Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society has been a major contributor to the San Francisco live music scene since 1964. The Douglas Beach House, which sits on the waterfront in Half Moon Bay, is a venue that has hosted hundreds of superb musicians over the years, including Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Max Roach, Freddie Hubbard, Duke Ellington, and Etta James. The Douglas Beach House enjoys a stellar reputation in the music community as being one of the best places to perform thanks to great acoustics, the vibe of the concert room, and appreciative audiences.
Musicians concur with comments such as:
"The best gig on the tour. It's nice when we can play the more intimate venues and the crowd gets to interact with the band." -- Albert Sun, Manager, Mingus Big Band
"This is truly a beautiful venue to perform -- filled with the warmth and love of the owners. Thanks." -- Delfaeyo Marsalis
"I have known about this club for as long as I've been playing and this is my first time here. Thank you for making it so special." -- Ravi Coltrane

Thanks Pete for keeping jazz alive here in the bay area.
I've been on that stage and it's wonderful.
