James Christian 2006 DCA tenor solo - 1st place

James Christian's winning performance at DCA 2006

This solo is entitled "The Ultimate". It is part one of a trilogy. Part two was performed at DCA 2007. I plan eventually to complete the third installment, but my schedule has been quite busy over the past few years, so no definite date for completion yet.

Part one is dedicated to every drummer who ever marched with the Bridgemen Drum & Bugle Corps. You may recognize excerpts from "Black Market Juggler" toward the beginning.

This must be Keith. Thanks for the kind words. I heard that you had to use a different set of tenors at DCA, because one of your heads broke right before competition or something like that. I was sorry to hear that. I saw your video, and in light of having to switch tenors, I thought you played really well. I don't know that I could have done that. Hope to see you next year.

Tim Jackson is FAR superior? How? Don't get me wrong. Jackson is incredible, but his solos do not compare to what Mr. Christian plays. James plays some physically and mentally demanding stuff. There is nothing hokey about him.
