@slothgoonies Actually.. I find the people in the 'decent' hotels to be stuck up, high maintenance, boring and uncultured. And whilst I can afford them chose NOT to stay there. The minority of drunken idiots who spoil it aside, I have met many many AMAZING people in the cheap accommodation, who have spent years travelling, are intelligent, wordly, open minded interesting people with amazing stories, who enjoy a drink and a good time but are also respectful to the locals.

Bangkok is a fantastic city full of culture and wonderful palces to explore. I've been to Khao San once. And cannot figure out the attraction. Full of stinking backpacking white people, all getting their hair braided, and buying tacky souvenirs.

I got so wasted in Kao San. One moment I was sitting and drinking my drink at 11pm, next thing i know, I was dancing with a girl and it was 4am. It happened in a flash. I don't remember what happened in those 5 hours. came back home and passed out over the toilet haha

@MackemCook73 Spend an evening or afternoon there max. I never saw the appear of heading out to SE Asia only to go congregate in an area full of westerners. I may as well just spend the day in London. Get out of the city and check out places like Ayuthhya and Samutprakarn.
