  • Outsourcing is great for the economy and it also great for jobs. It is a remarkable thing to do, only if your the country that the jobs are being outsourced to. Outsourcing is destroying one of the corner stones of the foundation of our economy. Companies should be required to match the number of jobs they have in other countries to the number of jobs they have in the US. If you want to outsource10,000 jobs, then you need to maintain 10,000 in the US.

  • @xinecallaw Thank you for the nice input. This issue needs to be discussed by everyone, it is a big issue.

  • Rachael Maddow doesn't live in Missouri, I do - the jobs lost are because places have closed their doors all over the place, not because the jobs were outsourced. The places that have closed couldn't be shipped (mom and pop/small companies/retail chains etc.)

  • @SourceCode2006 - Maybe the "doors were closed" because the jobs were outsourced? Did you ask? She quoted figures from somebody who found out the number of jobs lost, and how many were lost to outsourcing. She didn't make the stuff up.

  • @VRAdmin Where is the mass outsourcing? Is not Boeing but Airbus who has opened an assembly plant in China. USA is the only western country where 9 foreign top automakers have opened production facilities. USA is a net exporter of capital goods and industrial supplies: trade deficits are 100% about consumer goods and energy imports. Maybe it has something to do with consuming 25% of world oil barrels.

  • @VRAdmin USA is the world largest maker or exporter of civilian aircraft (including helicopters, business jets and light planes), jet engines and other turbines, medical devices, industrial equipment, semiconductors, agricultural/construction machinery...

  • Treason. Execute that traitor.

  • @SourceCode2006 the problem is because of free trade. during the 70's we had protectionist policies which forced tariffs on China, Japan, etc. keep our jobs in the US and force those tariffs so those multinationals pay for outsourcing and make it cheaper to produce in the USA

  • @a03575sec Yes outsourcing is a fact. But if you give companies tax breaks and incentives to outsource, the result is quite obvious.

The danger of too much outsourcing is also fact. For example, minerals that are essential to making our smart missiles were once abundant and we had many factories that were part of that process. We outsourced those very same factories and now China emerging as a power in industry has leveraged on our defense needs.

    Investing in Americans helps America

  • buzzwords..."legitimate"

    remember the oil spill?

    "will pay all legitimate claims"

  • companys pay no federal income taxes.

    they beat the tax man.

  • @VRAdmin in theory if enough jobs vanish due to outsourcing, this also means less people to buy the product as there will be no money to purchase goods and services. In effect it just sounds like an imminent crash right around the corner. There is also domestic outsourcing as well now for certain jobs where companies may not even hire a permanent workforce and outsource through a temp agency.
