I came across this "naja haje arabica" a sub species of the Egyptian Cobra in the desert near the drilling rig I work on.

  • It's a venomous rear fanged colubrid called Arabian false cobra, it's scientific name is Malpolon moilensis, is more related to sand snakes (Psammophis) than cobras and althought it is venomous, it's venom is weak and can only cause pain and middle swelling on the affected area.

  • @rattlingtotheend Thank you for information, sounds like you know your snakes; how did you like the video, was the close up good?

  • wat camera s this?

  • @nANAZEY ... Sanyo Xacti HD1000 but there are newer models now, awesome camera, check on Amazon or Ebay

  • sorry mate, this is not a cobra but an non venomous snake

  • I am open to information; please identify the type of snake for me then, a website would be good, or state your source for saying why this is not a snake relation of the Egyptian Cobra, other than your own opinion?

  • @Harley04 yes indeed I liked the video, and yeah, I know some stuff about snakes, even the ones that are very far away from my country like this one. Keep up the good work and be nice to snakes, as they in return will be nice to you.

  • That's some nice video, but I'm not so sure this is a cobra:

    I agree w/"estrellanocka"

  • This pretty animal is venenous, but not dangerous for the humans ,is a pretty "Malpolon moilensis" :)

  • Hi, I believe it is called a "False Cobra" found in the Middle East.

  • hi,

this is not easy. i am working with venomous snakes for years. i have a couple of cobras. the egythian cobra is naja haje. jut google some pics and you will see this is a totaly different snake.

there a lot of non venomous snakes in this area and i am not an expert on this issue.
