the renaissance wasnt really "new" it was more a inspired rebirth from roman and greek art/sculptures that led to a different approach and more freedom in art as when drawing religious art you had to follow a set of rules, renaissance gave religious art a more human touch and human expression and actions and accurately drawing humans as they look and pose, giving them weight and proper porportions of the body, also introducing depth into paintings and proper perspective!
