Was this song released as a radio cut? That is when radio plays a song that isn't available commercially. I am sure adult contemporary would have played this song. One song from her album, NEXT, was released only to radio. The song title is OH HOW THE YEARS GO BY. It was one of her best performances. It was a big hit on radio.
everytime I listen to this song, I can't help but to think what a fool Rick Fox is... Really, here you have one of the most beautiful women in the world who sings like an angel, to let her go like that, wow, it's really his loss! Of course, we don't know what really goes on in celebrities' private lives. But really, I'd think any other man who was married to Vanessa Williams would be out of his mind to let her go.
annoyed she'd be at a fan for requesting this song, should the moment be just "one of them days".... I've seen her perform this song live, and it was flawless. She was really feeling the lines as she was singing. I don't know if I could do that with a song that had been written by an ex-spouse or lover, I'd either just go through the motions without any feeling, otherwise, I would change some of the lyrics to curse words in order to really feel what I was singing. Kudos to Miss Williams!
It's rather sad how bittersweet this song is.... the fact that the lyrics to this song came from a poem Rick Fox had written when he asked for her hand in marriage, for years, Vanessa had wanted to turn these beautiful words into a song and record it as a way of commemorating their "eternal" love, unfortunately, by the time of this recording, their marriage had ended in divorce. It turned out to be a beautiful song and a popular request by her fans at her live shows. I can't imagine just how
