*2 weeks later*
Selena's POV: Cody visited me about 5 times already. He'd drop by my house to say hi after he hung out with his friends. For one whole week, I actually felt a little something for Cody. It was wrong because he has a girlfriend but the good news is that it didn't last long. I might be wrong but I think he felt something too. I mean, come on, he willingly visited me every night for a whole week. Sorry to think this way, but tell me that doesn't mean anything. On the 4th of July, we sat on my porch and watched the fireworks by our neighborhood. That night was the night I felt a connection with him and Ill always treasure that moment.
*Skipping to July 21. Its 11:50 pm.*
{Selena-Nick T.C. (text conversation)}
Selena - What are you talking about?
Nick - It's almost your birthday!
Selena - Oh please I don't have a birthday.
Nick - Stop being so modest.
Selena - I am not being modest. You can't tell me when my birthday is.
{Selena-Cody T.C.}
Selena - Nuh uh I'm going to text her first.
Cody - Nope, I'm going to beat you to it. Watch.
Selena - I doubt Demi is still awake but in the morning well ask her who's text message she received first.
Cody - Deal. You're so going to lose. Just like how you're going to lose against me in tennis :P

Selena - Hello?
Nick - Happy Birthday!
Selena - Shhh. (laughs) Thank you sir.
Nick - Woot woot you're 16 now.
Selena - Wheres my birthday gift? Jk jk (giggles)
Nick - My hug shall be there soon.
Selena's POV: BEST BIRTHDAY SO FAR! He just made my day. He didn't have to call, I mean he already texted me but he did anyways. *sigh* I'm really starting to like him. This isn't good though because well what about Miley? I know she tells me all this things like she doesn't care and stuff but I know deep down she does. I'm hurting her, I know I am and I can't believe I'm not doing anything about it. I can try talking to her but what's the use? Shes just going to change the subject. I try not to communicate with him as much but he's the one who always texts me. When he wakes up and after practice ends. Sometimes he'd call too! I can't control the things he does.
*In the morning. Selena wakes up to a text message*
??? - Hey good morning, I just woke up. Happy Birthday! Enjoy today have fun, kay :]
Selena's POV: Why did he have to text me? I know he's just being nice but I didn't WANT him to text me. Every time I see his name on my phone, it just reminds me of what he did and I get so angry that it ruins my mood. Its my birthday. I'm suppose to be happy but that text completely ruined my mood. I guess its time to put on my mask. I can't show anyone that I'm not in a good mood today. I cant it's my birthday.
(Later on in the afternoon)
Selena's POV: My mom came down to the tennis courts and brought pizza for everyone. When they started singing Happy Birthday, I felt my cheeks blush. I don't like being surrounded with attention. It wasn't something I was comfortable with. I tried hiding my face on Miley's back but instead I banged it against her spine. I felt my cheeks blush even more. I apologized as she smiled at me. Everyone enjoyed the pizza and soon enough we were back in the courts. I was hitting around with Miley. Practice was officially over because my mom interrupted. Well not really because we were on break.
(Later on in the evening)
Selena's POV: I came home to a birthday cake and more food. I was already full from the pizza but I still had to eat. I had no choice. I took a shower and put on a gray strapless summer dress. My dad took loads of pictures. I didn't really like taking pictures, not unless I'm the photographer. After dinner, I laid down on my bed and I began texting Nick.
