...timjmoran....I did a little research on her and I agree with you. She tunes-up in the beginning and is lost a little bit. She sings very well in tunes I have heard since my last post. Thx for your comment

is,this doesn't represent her usual quality level of singing. I think she is trying to do her own interpretation of this tune, and makes some mistakes technically. Shame, 'cause Madeleine really IS a better singer
than this vid would have you believe.

This performance is awful...She is the "Henry Orient" of Jazz. This song is my punishment for the day. Her rendition of CARELESS LOVE, on the other hand, is outstanding along with Odettas'.

In my opinion is she drunk. Singing like this mmmmmm.....

she doesn't sound out of tune at all, she just sounds off beat or, one beat ahead of the beat... doest hat even make sense? haha whatever i know what i mean :) hahaha

A wonderful voice and talent.  I've always enjoyed her.

Have to say that I went to see her at a place called the Keswick theater several years ago and she didn't seem like a very pleasant player.

Youve got no idea... She is singing in so many different scales and tempos from one line to the next, that it is technically extremely difficult. Like it or not (and i do) it takes superb knowledge of music to do this. and if it wasnt a recording and you could hear the live thing, it is just addictive, you can hear a pin drop when she sings. And she's a renowned blues/jazz singer for 20 years now! She's worth seeing live definitely.
