For many years Pat Wylie has maintained his affiliation with the University of South Carolina, serving as the "voice" of the Carolina Band. He retired in 1998 after serving 25 years as "Dean of Students" for the annual USC Summer Music Camp.
After 38 seasons telling fans to "keep your seats ladies and gentleman for now it's time for the mighty sound of the southeast!", he decided this season to give it up.
Camden resident and long-time community music educator Pat Wylie was recognized for his many contributions to the USC Marching Band program. (Pat is the "voice" of the band.) This is a richly-deserved recognition for a man who had dedicated his life to music and exposed countless young people to the wonders of music.
