A machine like this has got to be tough, and you can bet the DR is built right. For example, in situations where you can't always see what you're mowing ... the DR has these shock absorbing PRO-TEK Swinging blades that deflect if you hit a rock or some other fixed object. This protects the spindle, engine, and blade itself from serious damage. Our exclusive blade spindle has a classic DR pedigree - a 1-3/8" solid steel shaft mounted on 30mm ball bearings -- intended for the extra heavy duty work you'll find yourself doing. The 1 1/4" diameter Brush Bar knocks down vegetation allowing the blades to easily cut thick, waist-high grass and weeds. It even mows down hardwood saplings up 2" thick. The mowing deck is made of welded steel- a full one eighth inch thick. It will stand up to most anything and do it for years. Sealant filled tires permanently reseal punctures that a rock or stick could cause...and the wheels are shielded to protect both the mower deck and objects encountered while mowing.
