Assistive technology plays a vitally important role within Jerziah's world. His technology allows him to communicate with others, participate in school, demonstrate independence, express himself through music and art, and independently drive around in his "escalade". Jerziah controls his technology using his eyes, lips, and/or tongue. These assistive technology tools empower him to learn, discover, and share with others.

  • Great video, Jerziah! Thanks so much for posting it. I was wondering what product you use to operate your computer with eye gaze control. Is it a Dynavox?

  • Thank you for the comments. Jeriziah is using the ERICA system in this video.

That's cool!! I to use assistive technology. I use a cctv to read. I put print matterial under the camera and the print is enlarged on a monitor. As far as the computer I use Zoom Text it's a magnifier & screen reader. I type one handed. I have mild CP and I'm also leagaly blind. As far as mobility I use a guide dog. I to love music I like Pop Rock & contemporary worship music in the Church choir. Some of my favorite singers are Michael Jackson, Elton John, and Josh Groban.

  • Thanks for showing all of the wonderful things Jerziah can do using AT!

  • My first thought when I watched this video of Jerziah was this: how much so many of us complain (myself included) about the curveballs Life throws at us. Then you see Jerziah, 11 years old-- laughing, smiling, and, enjoying life as if there were no tomorrow. He is a teacher, my friends. Learn from him and the world will become a better place. Never feel sorry for someone who has a spine forged of steel. You ROCK, Jerziah!!! Thank you for being the person you are. We love you!
