SEVEN YEARS OF MY LIFE TAKEN FROM MY CHILDREN AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS. THE STRESS AND WORRY PUT ON THEM. THEY ALWAYS CAME TO VISIT, NO MATTER WHAT OR WHERE D.O.C. HAD SHIPPED ME TO, MY FAMILY WAS THERE. THANK GOD FOR FAMILY. THESE ARE JUST SOME OF MY VISITS, ALONG WITH SOME OTHER INMATES ON A PICTURE NIGHT, OR YARD DAY. NOT ASHAMED,NOR PROUD.
Hi, I'm Dave... and being ex-offender is a stigma I have to carry for the rest of my life (I have to be honest) but I guess we have to look at things from another perspective... I mean, I didn't appreciate my family until I was convicted in a court of law... they stood by me and hang in there with me (albeit in the free outside world. Yes, we call the prison a world apart from the real world) and I promised them that I'll never be so stupid again.

This is how it is folks. If true rehabilitation efforts were made, there would be no reason to lock up anyone for more than 5 years. It's about rehab, not vengeance. It could be your loved one that makes a mistake. Think about it.
