yes and no, since the PC9 had original a whole different design which was not able to win against the Tucano. Pilatus Swiss in joint venture with US companies adopted later the same design as the Embraer Tucano, most a clone of it and it´s called now T6A, mainly a Embraer TUCANO clone.

I bet you're thinking of the Embraer Tucano. The Texan here (built by Raytheon/ Hawker-Beechcraft) is related to the Swiss Pilatus PC-9.

Brazil designed and developed this plane in the 1980´s.
