This is great both on the Archimedes and Amiga. A classic shmup that is still playable today

Another great video.
The trick is to get the invincibility bubble and then move into the center of the boss.
See you again on #playpen sometime.

Sounds excellent. The ARM2 is still a powerful processor.
I'd love to see what you produce.
I'm no graphic artist, but I'm sure you could must up some help from perhaps comp.sys.acorn.misc

Hello.
No.
It's going to be for ARM2 based machines with VIDC 1, to demonstrate what can be done.
The game runs in an overscan mode 13 (384*288, 256 colours), with
50 frames per second thanks to hardware scrolling.
It displays huge sprites on screen, giving a Neo Geo style.
There are highly optimised plotting/unplotting routines in 'generated code' to get this.
I'm programming it in myspare time, and it's quite sad I haven't got a graphics artist to 'push' me into it.
Regards,
Xavier.

So are you writing a game for the RISC PC then?
Cool if you are.
Just another 'commercial' conversion which doesn't use the real power of the Archimedes.
It's in 16 colours, it's damn slow.
Honestly it's an insult to the Archimedes when you know what it's really capable to do.
I'll soon distribute a SWIV like shareware which will show you that even on ARM2 machines you can get far FAR better results.
LOL!
They didn't even bother to change the controls selection screen!
It's an Amiga computer there for selecting keyboard controls!

Jeep didn't suck. It just was tricky!
I play equally well both Jeep and Heli.
