@craftsmank Just like you and save the wolves or ant hill projects, ask yourself this question.... Would you rather die or have an animal or reptile die? If your honest, i know damn well you would pick yourself. So save your shit.
I live on the west coast - every 20 km or so is a small harbour with at least 2 commercial fishermen catching up to and over 100 kg each every time they go out, some every day.
Foreign fishermen spend huge sums on their hollidays, our small communities need every penny they can get..
Our fragile environment is in far more danger from ourselves than tourists - nearby is the seaweed factory - 3 boats destroying huge amounts of seabed habitat every day.
According to Norwegian law these foreign fishermen can only bring 20kgs fillet out of the country. These Halibut are caught as trophy fish. I hope the norwegian gouverment will inforce laws to regulate the fishing tourism in a way that protect our fragile enviroment and ensure that it can be kept healthy. Except for Salmon and trout, there are no fishing fees and too cheap as it is today.
Please visit our fantastic country, but help us preserve it as it is for future generations ! :)
