http://hungrybeast.abc.net.au/ | Hungry Beast footage from a raid on a Taliban compound in the Shah Wali Kot region of Afghanistan.

The footage, captured last October, was shot by an Australian soldier using a helmet-mounted camera.

The operation was a major success for Australian troops, but Hungry Beast will illustrate that the Department of Defence held back the footage even after it was cleared of operational security concerns and submitted for public release by local commanders and ADF Headquarters for Middle East Area of Operations.

  • The media crying about the military protecting it's soldiers, and the mission. These men aren't asking for the media hype. If the DoD was handing out top secret info, pictures missions etc. to the media then they would be crying the other way.. Just another reason why the need to keep the door closed to the media. Let them learn about it 20 years from now when we all read the memoires of someone serving over there. and not in the papers Monday morning..
