StarCraft 2: Proxy Barracks Reaper Rush Step-by-Step (SC2 Gameplay/Commentary)

Learn Step-by-Step how to execute this strategy!

Build Order:

(6) Start by mining with 5 of your initial 6 SCV's send the 6th out to build your proxy Barracks near your opponents base
(6) @ 150 minerals build your proxy Barracks
(6) @ 75 minerals build a Refinery
(7) @ 50 minerals build an SCV and have it rallied to your refinery
(7) When the refinery is finished building be sure you have 3 SCVs gathering from it
(7) @ 25 vespean build a Tech Lab on your Barracks
(8) When the Tech Lab is finished building start making your first Reaper, be sure the Barracks is rallied to your opponents base
(8) Pull one SCV off of your Refinery and bring it to support your other SCV when building your Bunker in your opponents base

- From here decide if you need more Reapers, a Marauder, or a Marine.

- Be sure to build the bunker in a spot that is difficult for your opponent to surround with his probes

- Switch to Marauders if you see a Stalker coming, if no Stalkers get more Reapers

  • Those of you complaining might as well hail IdrA as your champion because just like him, you all have a preconceived notion of how the game should be played. It's like the British in the Revolutionary War crying about guerrilla warfare - just because your idea of war is to stand in a line and take turns shooting at each other doesn't mean you should expect everyone else to.

    Sorry if I sound like a grumpy old man, I really enjoy this game, I just hate it when they end before the 10 minute mark because of some cheesy, semi all in attempt. Once the game progresses past the 15 minute mark it really starts to shine, you see covert sneak attacks, great macro and interesting mechanics. I think thats the reason that most of us bought this game. I just get the feeling that these videos glorify some of the cheese builds that happen, hence adding to the problem

  • @DiverSeano yeah but think of it this way....if it's a competition involving money would you want to wait that long and take the risk of losing? or just go for this build and win...if it was just fun play,waiting for the 15 min mark is okay it's fun

  • How did he build a barracks without building a supply depot first?

  • @DiverSeano learn to counter effectivley and play your way. If you counter correctly, you'll have the advantage afterwards.

  • @RiCHiEboii93 Rush strategies are used almost all the time in upper level play. If he left his base undefended, he would have lost before he could destroy the terran base. As protoss he should have scouted first. Terran counter would be a good wall in. I dont play Zerg so their on their own.

  • @alvaroga91 Problem with this is he could just load then unload the scvs into the bunker.

  • Man if he just takes one stalker to your base you would loose, this is not a at all good strategy. gl hf in bronze league. YOur opponet doesnt even scout

  • WHat you are doing here is an all-in. You do not have any defense and barely any workers. Your opponet is not good enough to scout, build the barracks in the middle of the map.. im not impressed.
