Professor fired from Emmanuel College in Boston for discussing anti gun control ideas and disgust with the media circus in general about Virginia Tech talks about his frustration with political correctness and prissiness in general.
man, we are losing freedom. college students are adults who should be free to listen to different views and opinions. the media are puppets controlled by the elite. the only thing they can't control yet is the internet. hope you vote for the only freedom candidate on the ballot who doesn't care to speak his mind whether it is politically correct or not..RON PAUL!
This has nothing to do with a "a little hick Catholic school" accepting my grand ideas. Without tenure this professor is like a very slightly higher breed of T.A. - susceptible to the slightest whim of the administration. Sorry, but if I pulled a similar stunt with the undergrads I taught, I'd expect to be subject to the same scrutiny. It sucks, but such is life without tenure.
It wasn't about his ideas. I heard firsthand a lot of students were uncomfortable with their professors pretending to kill them all with a marker right after a school shooting happened. But oh no, our little hick Catholic school must not accept your grand ideas!
The first question that needs to be asked: Was this guy tenured? If not, he has to keep his mouth shut, otherwise he runs the risk of getting fired. It sucks, but that's the way the way the academic world works. If he wanted to change that, he should waited until he obtained (you guessed it!): TENURE!
Not always but most of the time, you find that kind of behavior in public schools too about gun control, anti-abortion, and religion. It really depends if the school is liberal or conservative
