Jack & Melissa Break Up was a short film
created for Project 21, a 21 day filmmaking contest in August 2008.

about the 85.53% Restored Version...

This version is, as close to, the original that I had before it needed to be cut down into a 10 minute format for the contest. At the time, I was so frustrated with how the film turned out. I erased all the footage, vowing to never re-edit. The only footage that I had was the submitted Project 21 cut. This was back in August 2008.

But...last week, I was cleaning my inbox and recovered a small video file. It was the rough cut of the film in low res quicktime format that I had sent through email for cast and friends to review.

That lead me to take that low res footage and combine it with the Project 21 version to create this 85.53% Restored Cut.

What I'm really happy about is that the rhythm and flow of the film is restored with this cut, and that's why I posted this. And overall, I think what the film is about is more clear than before.

I also added annotations to share some tidbits. This is my way of putting this work behind me and sharing lessons for filmmakers out there.
