My circles are off to the right where I join. It always happens whenever I do something like that (ie solid granny square). What am I doing wrong?

@giraffe199812 I sent you a playlist with the beginner crochet stitches. Knowing some of the stitches will be helpful. Come back and this tutorial should make more sense.

glad i found this just have a question what if I wanted to make a hat with the star in the begining how would I proceede I have a few Dallas cowboys fans who have asked me make them a hat and a star in the top would be great any help would be appreciated I have an example if you would like to see

@natasjja99 The easiest way would be to sew the star on the top as an applique.
