I thought CBS would be able to spell Sweden correctly

Inteview Eva instead of Stieg's father and brother for god's sake...

She rejects the cooperation for a reason, it's obvious that she knows exactly what Stieg wanted

It was just a Hollywood version of a Swedish film. I think people don't give the Swedish version enough credit.

Because it's a more complete cinematic experience packaged and told in a way that is well worth the price of admission. from the amazing original score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (Academy Award winners, btw) to the cinematography that breathtakingly captures the jaw-dropping Swedish land- and city-scapes. The original was just a mediocre made-for-TV movie. However, the Swedish "Let The Right One In" is a haunting dark fairy tale, and the American remake is garbage by comparison.

You know what's funny? I mean aside from the fact that you have absolutely no idea wtf you're talking about. What's funny is that my name is Evan and, by retards who don't know how to spell, is rendered as "Even" more often than should be allowed by a loving God. But you're the first person I've ever seen that has done the opposite and rendered the word"even" as "evan". And you're an idiot; it's not stealing ideas, dumbass. Rights are negotiated over, contracts are signed, licences granted.

The American production company that made the film did not steal anything. They paid the Larsson family a considerable amount of money for the rights. We're talking high millions.

I am not sure anyone thinks that. It seems every person I come across that has seen both works thinks the Swedish version is better. A lot of people in the States are superficial and self-hating and think almost everything about their country's pop culture is inferior to the rest of the world. You saying "style over substance" is not really saying anything at all. Americans seem to comprise of Larsson's biggest fan base.

I agree. I just think the American version was more style over substance. And some people can tell the difference between style and substance.
