Even though I was VERY happy to have finished it/gotten out of there alive, the Return to Cathedral mission was probably my most favorite of the game: it combined stealth, action, and downright horror quite well. It wasn't until the Eye was taken that the real story of the level began, and through reading the texts and completing Brother Murus's requests, I learned more about how the Cathedral became haunted. Fun fun fun.

this level along with the cradle where in my opinion the creepiest, i too spent a while outside working the nerve to get in, same situation with the cradle, exept in the cradle as you are more free to equip yourself, i went in there armed to the teeth contrary to the cathedral where i was completely underarmed

Anyone know where i can find the story about why that part of the city was walled off? Yea zombies n stuff, i know, but i want to know more about it.

Oh man....first time I played, just so nerve wrecking!
Thief: Tie between Assassins and Songs of the Caverns
Thief 2: Tie between First City Bank and Trust and Life of the Party
Thief 3: Tie between Moria's Mansion and Shalebridge Cradle
Best game series EVER made. I don't think anything is gonna top it

Ya but when he goes after it himself, hes going to sell it anyway. And why would you wait for another customer when one wants to buy it right away for 100000 gold. Garrett had no other choice but to sell it to Constantine.

"when I get paid for this job, I'm going to retire in style!" :)
poor stringsie, foolsie Garret :)

It was easy to exploit this level. It was long time ago but i remember that the cathedral door were opened and then they closed you could block that by putting stone there to block the door and just walk in smash everything with flash granades :) I guess i missed the fun

He was a pagan god and the eye was in a Hammer cathedral. I'm guessing that it'd be the equivalent of a vampire trying to go inside a church.

somehow your comment is epic!
And yeah one of the best Levels ever made!

garret goes through all that shit to get that "eye" and bring it back to constantine just so he can backstab him. what an asshole. makes you wonder, why couldnt he go after it himself?
I spent fifteen minutes in front of that Cathedral, working up the nerve to go in, waiting for it to sound a little less dangerous before I opened the door.
It never did.
I went in anyway.

I'd say the Cradle of Insanity stands neck to neck with it.
