Lets clear up one misconception. Your shoulders do not turn in the back swing. You may question this because you need to turn in you back swing. However, it is not your shoulders that turn. Trying to turn them can ruin your turn because your shoulders are independent of each other. You can move on without the other. What you want to do is turn your back and chest. Think of the buttons on your shirt placket and the area on your back between your shoulder blades. These are the two areas that turn your shoulders in the back swing. At the top of your back swing your buttons should be facing away from your target and your back is facing the target. Why do you thing it is called a BACK swing? It is because the BACK turns. When you try to turn your shoulders, especially your left shoulder, your shoulder sockets lock up and prevent your left arm to swing freely in your swing. Turn you back and chest for better shoulder turn.
