I've got one, and have wondered, for some time now, whether anyone has ever removed the lens from an old camera and adapted to a newer camera. I always liked the lens on my ag450. It gave great results on SVHS tape. I used to take regular VHS tapes and drill a small hole in back side of the plastic housing which allowed the camera record in 'Svhs' mode.
@EyeindaSky695 With what you'd pay to get a "decent" SVHS cam and especially with shipping (these dogs are heavy) I'd recommend you go buy a flip video cam...
@GanEdenAustralia The AG-455 and the AG-456 replaced this one I think (they were basically identical.) The 460 was a higher-end model, because it was a 2-chip system whereas the 450, 455, and 456 were all single-chip. The 460 produced a better picture because it had separate chips, one for luma and one for chroma. It was also less sensitive to light...you had to have bright light if you were indoors. Did great outside though.
@2migell The 450 had a massive power brick; one cable plugs into the wall and the other into the back of the 450. You can charge the battery while it's mounted in the 450 with the 450 turned off. Or you can use the 3-inch long charging cable which plugs into the front of the power brick and snaps onto the battery while it's out of the 450.
I bought one on amazon about 3 seconds ago, is it a good QUALITY, camera?

@cllewis1 Thank you for that. Over here in Aus, the 456 is called the NV-MS4 and it's black. It is the PAL version.

@bakonfreek It used a single CCD. 1/3" I think.
