There are several manufacturers of reflective insulation on the market and many of them use a high plastic content. What follows is a fire test on one of these. Its quite alarming how fast it turns to inferno.

The second test is for Solarguard reflective insualtion which has no pl;astic content and becasue of this gains a very high fire resistance rating.

  • What the experiment seen in the posted dvd successfully proves is that aluminium based reflective materials are much more robust and durable than their plastic based counterparts when it comes to a fire situation.

  • Your video is misleading. Not all plastic based insulation burns like this. In fact, ALL the leading brands of plastic based reflective insulation can pass this corner room burn test.
