Pratibha Patil in Diu for week-long vacation

President Pratibha Patil today arrived in Diu along with her family to spend a week-long vacation in the scenic destination, official sources said.

During her stay at the Union Territory, the President will visit several historic places like old churches, jail, tourist-favourite Nagwa beach before offering prayers at Gangeshwar Mahadev temple, they said.

She will also meet locals before attendingcultural programmes organised by the Diu district authority, sources said.

Patil will leave for Delhi on January 6, they added.

President pratibha Patil will visit the Diu, ending her visit to Gujarat by visiting Rajkot in the evening before returning to New Delhi.
