SCHS Graduation - Safety Dance Finale

What began as a last minute effort to save the Senior Revue back in March ultimately came to identify the SCHS Class of 2011. They performed this on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in D.C., at prom, and even at the local elementary school as part of their original skit about the power of friendship. Now, the seniors say farewell to high school with the same energy, charisma, and boundless spirit....the best graduation this school has ever seen from a wonderful group of students. Way to go, graduates!!

I know! How sad that all the graduates were invited to learn the dance, but instead of sticking around after rehearsal to learn it, they left.

mbc0331, Among the many people I sent this video to was an academic dean at a college. Here is what she wrote back to me: "This is wonderful!!!! I gave it to my Student Services Coordinator, who plans graduation. It would enliven a college graduation a great deal….anyway, we have had fun with it today. Thanks for sharing. Stay cool."

I've been to three graduations at Silver Creek High School. I have two sons and a daughter who, I'm proud to say, were graduated from Silver Creek - home of the

Dragons. I never saw a graduation like this, but I like it! I like it a lot, and I'm going to send this video to everyone I know. Life is too short not to enjoy every minute of it that you can. This was fun!

@aseventh Thanks!! I had a blast choreographing this dance back in March for the talent show, and these kids have just taken it to another dimention. They're an awesome group, and I'm so grateful that Mr. Crabtree said yes when they asked him permission to do it. You're right, life is too short, and I'm glad we were able to push the envelope a little bit on what is usually a traditional ceremony. The best part is watching them ENJOY themselves so much. SO fun!

I wish we could have done something like that my Senior Year at SCHS But we had and a drill sargent for the ceremony! Great Vid
