In an address to the bishops of Nigeria at the end of their ad-limina visit, Pope Benedict called for attention to liturgical celebrations and expressed his appreciation for the work in developing diocesan planning and the formation of clergy and laity. Referring to the upcoming Synod for Africa, the Pope said the church is a home for all and said there is no place within it for any kind of division. He also noted how in a continent wracked by ethnic divisions many members of the Church are carrying out a pastoral mission outside their own national borders or tribal group.
