All that may be true, but $10k? That's what they're asking for these things. Even if they cost twice the money in material, they only spend a fraction of the time in labor. Do you know how much time go's into a hand carved instrument? All these jokers do is poor a mold, cut a bridge and string. My problem isn't with the instrument, I'm sure it sounds great, it's with the price.$10k!?! The instruments would be perfect for school's, but those kids will never see one for $10k

Yeah I hear ya bro, but I guess that where the pesky nose of marketing comes handy, they're just trying to make it exclusive. Marketing's a bitch, ain't it?

I would guess just a layer of carbon fiber costs about the same as an entire wooden cello, that's the difference...

They aren't as high maintenance thats why. Unlike normal wooden instruments the carbon fiber instruments are not susceptible to weather changes.
