My latest composition. This piece sounds not unlike what one would hear from a child's music box. Set to pictures from my own childhood.

  • How beautiful!

I love it's innocence and quaint charm Matthew.

You are such a fine and evocative composer.

    Well done!

  • After the next video I'm going to take some time off posting videos, and try to rekindle my love for composing. I'll be running a few things by you once I gets a'rolling with it.

  • Interesting you say that . Lately I've felt a need to take some time off composing too. It can be healthy. Often too I feel a need to go back to square one, almost relearn the learning, whatever that means.

    Blessings....

  • I feel relearning could be the best thing one could do to bring forth inspiration again. I was so much more motivated to create in my earliest years of composing. Maybe a return to simplicity is needed. Even though my music is relatively simple to many composers!

  • Simplicity is everything. Mastering the art of economy also reveals your true voice to you. Less is more. There's strength in simplicity.

I stopped composing for many years. I started again by relearning ad rewriting earlier works - I approached them as if someone else had written them and set out to better them. It worked. :)

  • I've got so much stuff I could approach like that. That's a great idea for getting back into it.

    Take care
