not entirely similar in sound but just another lady who makes great stuff.

It's one of the microphone that cut alot of lower frequencies like the ones that blues players used with a harmonica. I use to have one similar to that one to get that same vocal effect.

it's not a synthesizer , it' an old school microphone - listen to how it distorts her voice like a 1920's press conference.
