  • so what's your problem? Some 50 yrs back people in USA did not know what even was yogurt Dannon and some dairy enthusiasts introduced yogurt to usa. and it was expensive , it is even expensive to day. A year ago to day milk was $2 /half gallon which would make and yogurt in was USA $4 for a quart, simple economics instigated many Indians to make their own yougurt, including my self a food technologist, i made a video to explain how it can be made for people who did not nkow how...contd.

  • besides i see from your profile , you have not made even a single video , how can you comment on some thing that you do not know how....make some videos and then come backl to comment on other's work. It is simply irresponsible to judge others where you know nothing about. STOP doing it.

besides in usa yogurt is 2x more expensive, & mid-eastern+Indians knew how, hence this video was developed to educate AMERICANS & make them aware how it is so so simple to make,so quit complaining. BYE BYE.

  • please look up a biochemistry book. or google for additional info. yogurt , ACID PRODUCED by bacteria coagulates the milk protein , AND DOES not produce co2,unless in bad case, it may. ask a science teacher to explain you.okay

  • Thanks for the info. I'll have to try this tomorrow.

Also I was wondering if I should be at all worried about the yogurt containers bursting because of the fermentation process.

I know that the fermentation process in making beer and whine puts out alot of gasses that can cause sealed containers to burst.

  • FERMENTATION process means in absence of air or anaerobic biochemical process. (absence or partial absence of air. yougurt is actually a lactic acid fermmentation ,like pickles, while BEER OR WINE IS an ALCOHOLIC FERMENTATION

BOTH occur or prefer absence of air, but from sugars produce different end products, lactic acid in yogurt, and alcohol in beer/wine.Please loo up g

  • Very interesting!

Is it easy to make yogurt out of vegetable milks? I am vegan so the info so dairy or gelatins are no no :)

Is oven good place for incubating (something like 45 degrees celcius)? Normal room temperature is like 20C and it feels to be quite cool for bacteria...

Is it possible to "overincubate" the yogurt?

Sorry for these stupid questions, sometimes it just is better to ask the pro rather than waste a gallon of milk trying to do something stupid.

  • People in oreintal countries make curdled product form soy milk ,namely TOFU.FOOD TECHNOLOGISTS IN INDIA HAVE MADE YOGURT LIKE PRODUCT FROM PEANUTS . hOWEVER SUCH PRODUCTS ARE MERELY COAGULATED OR GELLED PROTEINS,& ARE NOT similar to yogurt which is a FERMENTED (SUGAR CHANGED TO ACIDS)& COAGULATED MILK PROTEIN(SIMILAR TO CHEESE.YES 4O CELCIUS WOULD BE BETTER, 45 IS ON HIGHER SIDE.20-30 ARE good, for many, oven is not available,it takes longer time. OVer..csause> acidity; NO QUESTIONS ARE STUPID.

  • I found this video very frustrating to watch. I could not get to the end of it. The way the text appears is annoying. The actual information provided could have been done in 60 seconds. The rest could have simply been done in a clear and precise voice over.

  • You should never put a plastic container in the microwave over, especially one not made especially for microwaves!!!!!

  • Do you know how to copy yoghurt making from other nations?

  • i neede song name

  • Yogurt is a Turkish food and music also Turkish singer Bendeniz song "Bastım mühürü"

  • i like the music!

  • The music was interesting & exotic. It sounded like Gypsy music to me. The idea of homemade yogurt sounds like it might be economical.

  • what's the name of the song that's playing in the background?

  • This was cool! Thanks. :D

  • Good information overall, however using Raw Milk would be ideal if you can get it from a good clean source. But since it's not legal to buy in most states then Pasturized would have to do. You should be able to find non-homogenized milk from grass-fed cows at your local health food or organic market.

You definitely do NOT want to pasturize the milk if it's raw. Why kill all the good stuff. And most definitely you don't want to warm the milk in the microwave oven.
