  • Presuming that your walls are 8 feet high you have about 230 sq feet of wall and ceiling surface. 32 sq feet is only about 1/7 of your total available surface area so you won't be able to cover the whole closet. I would suggest that you spread the panels evenly around walls and ceiling. On opposing walls I would suggest that stagger the panels so that there are no or minimal bare parallel wall surfaces on both sides. This will help reduce flutter echos.

  • what have you used to paint the jute cloth, the paint dosent block the holes in the jute cloth?i too have wrapped the rockwool in this jute cloth but i did not cover the woden frame into the jute cloth...

  • @desiguy118 The cloth I used is burlap that I purchased from a fabric store. It is not painted.

  • I am building my home studio,i used Rock wool in the wodenFrames and covered the frame with a woden thin ply which has holes but i was not sucess full to reduce the echo in the room, but when i remove the woden ply it does absorbs the sound well, what should i use insted of the ply? i spent a lot the the ply tho!!

    i am kinda disapointed...

  • @desiguy118 The thin plywood with holes will definitely affect the frequencies that are absorbed. Unless you have a specific reason absorbing certain frequencies you should not use the plywood. The Owens Corning 703 fiberglass that I used and the rock wool that you used has good broadband absoption. If you want to increase low frequency absorption you need to locate the panel some distance from the wall as I have done in the corners and ceiling.

  • I'm doing some work on Slim Productions Studio and you have aided in my research. I hope you'll be able to see an improvement on the shows we work on in the future.

  • @AdenTallon Great to hear the video was useful. What shows do you produce and where I can I see them?

  • Hi thanks for your video. Your bass traps leave a hole in the corner. what is the difference with traps that fill a good portion or alll the corner from ;floor to ceiling with absortion material. Are yours broadband absorvers? Thenks.

  • Great video :)

But I have a question.. My closet is about 5'x5'x7' nd I have 32 1'x1' soundproof foams...is it necessary to cover my whole closet or can I just spread the squares all over my walls and cieling evenly??
