Last fall Missouri State Universitys IDEA Commons won the University Economic Development Associations award of excellence in the category of community development.
The geographic area in downtown Springfield known as the IDEA Commons includes locations for spin-off commercialization technologies and university programs. It will assist with the growth of innovation, design, entrepreneurship, and the arts for the benefit of the Springfield region.
IDEA Commons is an example of how the university continues to be engaged in promoting the communitys livability and economic success. Here to be recognized for this honor is Allen Kunkel, associate vice president for economic development.
And on the court to congratulate him is Dr. Jim Baker, vice president for research and economic development. Ladies and gentlemen please acknowledge the efforts of Allen Kunkel and everyone working on the IDEA Commons. They are in the Bancorp South Academic Spotlight.
