@kimada1017 The longer it bakes, the more I will need to adjust the stove flame to regulate the temperature inside the oven.
So I learn not to peek too often, because peeking lowers the internal temperature.
It does have a hot spot, however a soapstone placed on the bottom of the stove can fix that problem and helps spreading the heat.

So it took roughly an hour and a half to bake the cake. Not bad.

@siafulinux
The total baking time is 29 minutes, otherwise you have a black cake;-) The minutes count from the start. Do not add up :-)

Thanks - will try the trivet. BTW would you recommend this oven or would something sturdier be of use to bake?

@adamatova For camping purposes this ideal (small, light, cheap). For home-use I would not recommend it.

Where do you get those stones, I need one.

@adamatova I am sorry, but I cannot help you.. It is a kind of soap stone which was a gift from a former boss of mine... For the purpose I used it, you could use a cast iron trivet as well. It is just used for spreading the heat in the oven. However when you google on soapstone cubes (they came with it), you might find a supplier.
