@ClickThwaaack No, the dog barks at the moose, the moose (posessed of a highly developed sense of the preposterous) doubles over laughing, and the hunter gets his shot.
We haven't had a single moose attack in the state of Georgia since we got our moosedog.
Seriously, the elghund is probably the most versatile breed, excelling in hunting, herding, hauling, and (most of all for mine) a great companion. They are especially in tune with their people.
And they shed like a worn-out rug! ;-)

I have a Norwegian Elkhound (Norsk Elghund) myself, and I've always been amazed to learn that a dog as small as mine is (less than 40 pounds/20 Kilo) was bred for hunting something as large as moose. Is what we see in this video typical for hunting with them? Do they "provoke" the moose to chase and then bring them to the shooters?

@SethWreckLollis Thanks!
I still say the dog is inviting the moose to play.
There is no better breed!

@5610winston "Hunting is exciting, because you never know what will happen. Here, photographer Arne Jordal from Odda has joined the moose hunt at Siljan. But usually, it's pretty clear who's hunting who." and then the hunter says, "Imagine putting a bullet in that one."

@Mooseracks all dogs are in need of training although this moose dog has highly developed skills for moose hunting at birth but you only trigg the instinct by hunting and training :)
