Canon Powershot TX1

This is my Canon TX1 that I got today. I'm recording on high definition 720, in extended mode. I can record 50 mins in this mode. I'm using the Kingston 8GB SDHC class 6 card. It works like a charm. I got this camera because it's a hybrid point and shoot/video camera. I'm recording on ISO 800 in this video. My lighting isn't great.

The recorded sound of my TX1 is amazing for such a small cam. The mics are enough directional. It records low - mid - high frequencies way better than I expected. And the wind filter is working very well.
I'm impressed.

You can record just a bit less than 26 minutes of 720p video on a 8GB SDHC card . But I do not recommend the TX1 for HD. The colors are acurate and saturated (in daylight); however, the image quality is not really HD. The optical stabilizer works good, but zoom at 10X has a little "vignette".
Worst : the cam is useless in low light conditions.
Best : You can take it with you everywhere. It's ready to film within 3 secs.
I had mine for half of the suggested retail price and I love it :)

the quality looks similar to my $100.00 NOT had camcorder, I thought this was HD?

how much HD video can you record on the tx1? I hear its not much.

in entended mode for HD its like 50 minutes.

well...on the pro side. it is in a very nice convenient package and has the most advanced video for a camera that u can actaully take with u. which i will. it's solid on the video. and u can compress it such that it's much smaller without losing too much quality.
on the negative side...the next generations need to get better under low light.
