Neo Maya - I Won't Hurt You

Psych band from England. This song is from 1967.

Neo Maya was a pseudonym for Episode Six guitarist Graham Carter-Dimmock at a time when the band decided that each member would make a solo record. 'I Won't Hurt You', the A-side to their only single, is an excellent West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band cover and, along with Graham, included his sister Sheila Carter-Dimmock, Roger Glover (of Deep Purple fame), Clem Cattini (formerly of the Tornados), Alan Clark (guitar) and a 40-piece orchestra.

I actually like a couple of songs from The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, but I agree that Neo Maya definitely did this song better for sure.

WCPAEB.... Have you ever heard their song "A Child's Guide To Good & Evil"?.... not too bad.

FYI to the people who like this better than the wcpaeb version, neo maya was a pseudonym for the lead singer of the wcpaeb. so in a way, this is "their" version, too.

WCPAEB are, like Thirteenth Floor Elevators, one of the most overrated acts of the 60s...but they did provide good fodder for more talented bands to chew over and improve upon...and this is one, STUPENDOUS.
