@foamer4269I agree with remlap, I own the Eton E5 and they are a little gem of a radio. either that or I think something like the target hf3 would be a good starting receiver as it is designed as a communications receiver. The Target hf3 is so simple to use, A tuning knob, four mode buttons.. an on and off knob and a clarifier for working the ssb modes (upper and lower) I have the the basic set, it has one memory channel.
dont let its simplicity put you off, it is a very capable receiver.

WWZN 1510 is a frequent guest here in Germany, too.
Try out for WEGP on 1390 from Maine, also easy to catch ! :-)

What kind of receivers should one use for receiving distiant signals. Currently I live in Buffalo and KMOX in St.Louis is the farthest I've received.
