In honor of the Trichotillomania Learning Center's (TLC) 20th Anniversary, TLC asked teens what would be useful to them. What TLC heard back was along the lines of: " This disorder has casued a wedge betweeb me and my Dad. Can't you get someone who understands to talk to him?" Thus, this project was born.

Three fathers share from the heart about their own experiences in dealing with the struggles of having a child with Hair Pulling Disorder (trichotillomania). For more resources and information visit www.trich.org

  • Thanks TLC...beautiful video...I only wish this info had been available 45 years ago. I'm grateful for the progress that's been made.

  • I'm a dad dealing with this for years. This reinforces what I have had to learn. My daughter will have to deal with this and I love her as she is.

  • trichmaniagurl.blogspot.com. I have trich and want to help any girls like me with it:)

  • I wonder if my parents know that yelling does not help me stop pulling.

  • i wish my dad would watch this

  • This made me cry... :( I hate my trich.

  • Thanks for all of the help everyone.I really appreciate all of the comments everyone has left me.

  • @camperben just knowing that someone that you trust is there for you and understands can make a huge difference. Another thing, if you haven't already, try joining TrichWorld. Its an awesome online organization. Message me if you have questions about it or if you just want to talk or vent. Lots of love and support!

  • @camperben I know how you feel. I just started with Trich recently myself actually. My dad always notices me twiddling my hair and he'll say 'stop twiddling Madison! You're going bald! Just stop! Don't say its impossible, just focus on you're actions!' It's hard for parents to accept something like this. It's hard for them to understand since there's so little information about it publicly. I do suggest talking with someone you trust though. Start with a friend maybe. that's what I did.

  • @camperben Sometimes telling an aunt and asking her to talk to your mom about it, or a close friend of your mom's. It is very important that you can talk about this with your parents but its okay if it is hard or awkward to do so. Maybe you're mom is just worried its "her fault" so she is pretending it isn't real. Good luck and sending prayers.

  • @PunkSwagga94 ill try it,thx
