Who was talking about Belak? I'm a Leafs fan; of course I know who Belak is...that was the point of my comment: Belak fighting someone in the British league is hilarious. What's the point, of course he's going to win...he's beaten Boogaard in his time.

merce.... you know hockey? Belak is currently playing for the Predators, formerly with the Panthers and the Maple Leafs, so if the guys in this fight have no skill and can't fight, how is Belak in the NHL?
we KNOW the hockey in the UK isn't NHL standard, its not AHL standard either, but we're getting better, we got a brit d-man with the Blackhawks this year and have some good, young US and Canadian 'prospect' signings around the league...

It'd be nice if Britain starting showing up at Worlds tournaments. Im all for the game of hockey to expand bc its the most exciting sport. Itl take decades to knock off the powerhouses but nothing to be ashamed with getting ur nose dirty. BTW I saw Cornish play for the Prairie Thunder last year. Pretty solid fighter.

Euro ice hockey is nowhere near the talent of the NHL. And actually hockey was either invented by black ppl, i know its sad really but just look it up. Good for you attendance wise but until you make a splash at all at the world hockey tournamnents you will not be considered up there with the heavywieghts, USA Canada Russia etc.....i hope hockey does grow in england bc soccers is epic fail

Let me list off the international leagues that top your crappy, insignificant one. Swedish Elite League, Russian Super League, the German DEL, Czech Extraliga, Slovak Elite League, Swiss Elite League, Finland's SM-liiga...the list goes on. Hell, the Danes are putting out more talent than this so called British "Elite" League. So, no, the talent is not high end, even in Europe.
Who cares who invented hockey? British hockey can't even stand in the shadow of Canada's worst hockey organization.
