Sir Stud Muffin's first "Halter Class"

Sunday, May 17, 2009. Erin and her three year old spotted draft stallion "Sir Stud Muffin" entered thier first show. Their Halter Class was the first class in the morning so there was no time to lunge him to burn some of his energy/anxiety. The Judge was very impressed with Muffin as a spotted draft and told Erin he really liked his confirmation. The Judge only gave one tip and that was to get Muffin to stand better but he understood he was young and this was his first time showing. They walked away with thier first "Blue Ribbon"

are there certain patterns that they give you that you have to know before you enter the arena?

Every show is different. They will tell you what they want you to do before you enter the arena. In this show they wanted me to walk past the judge to the cone then trot and stop at the far cone. This was only the second time I had show halter class so I didn't really know what I was doing anyways. lol

Thank you. This was the first time Muffin was in a show and he was wanting to check out everything and excited. He held it together but I could feel he was not wanting to just stand around. He's young and needs more experience at showing and all the goings on outside the arena.

At the second cone is where he got judged. After that we were done with the show but I was talking with the judge some and answering his questions before I left the arena.
