being from Cuba, DR, and Puerto Rico i always knew that alot of our music is rooted in West Africa but after watching this i have a much more expanded understanding...its hard to explain but it feels natural, feels "right"

for blues players and fans, it would be easy to see the roots of the music here in the repetitive melody / rhythm, call and response structure, and even showmanship on display. great stuff!

The Griot is playing the Rede a single string violin type instrument indigenous to West Africa - talking drum and the women a true tribal gift.
