Hank Williams was truly America's first superstar. From 1949 to 1953, Hank had 34 consecutive hit singles - 32 hitting the top ten and 11 going to number 1. His songs of "drinking, living, and praying" were never before heard of themes. His troubled and turbulent life was intimately reflected in his music. Hank was only 29 when he died but his legacy as the king of country music lives on.

  • hank :( i wish you were here with us

  • I remember when the first Hank Williams song came on the radio in 1948, the song was Move it on Over. I have enjoyed Hank Williams from then on.

  • Words can't describe the effect Hank had on not only country music, but those that hear him sing it. There'll never be another one like him. Thanks for a job well done at putting this together.
