lovely shiba's. I have a 5 month old now. going through a bit of a tough time with him. He is food aggressive and has bitten a few times now around food so we have had to contact a dog behaviourist so fingers crossed we get him sorted. mine is so loving but only on his terms and when he wants a cuddle which is quite typical of the breed.

thanks for the nice comments. We used to have problems at food time. Took time but now they will sit and wait before eating, untill we let them eat. After this no more problems....good things take time. Good luck.

So grateful to know such great looking Shibas in NZ. Was there for the first time (Auckland for biz) and liked the country very very much. I have a black&tan Shiba and it is the direct puppy from the genuine Mataghi, the Japanese hunter. So she's okay with gunshots like fireworks and thunder. And pretty independent and rarely wags her tail.

Your Shibas look friendly and that's great. That's what I wish mine has a bit in her personality.

Thanks for the nice comment. There are not too many shiba in NZ at the moment, however we are just starting to see a few more which is nice as they are great dogs. good luck with your shiba. We look forward to watching some videos of your Black & Tan shiba.

my shibas stick their heads down the others throat and licjks their insides, its really gross
