Here I am at the Art Institute of California doing Automatic Dialog Replacement for the short film Young Hearts.

This is what I did for a few short lines...I only included a few minutes of the 2 1/2 hours spent in the ADR studio. Imagine now, what it would be like to have to do this for a major motion picture like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.

  • In "Mrs. Doubtfire," Robin Williams' character is seen voicing a completed cartoon. In reality that would only be done in rare circumstances, such as dubbing in another language, or some sort of weird legal reason.

  • About time they finished this movie :/

  • Thanks for that info! =)

  • On animations, they record the dialogue and them the animation according to the performance of the real voice of the actors, that way they won't limit the performance (expression) of the actor and is a lot easier.

  • They need to fix the drivers babe. ;)

  • Yeah good point. =) Luckily I was pretty quiet with the paper and finally got a chair I could place it on. Thanks!
